After years as working as a representative of fabrics, Carlo Casillo founded the company of Push in 1993 for the Italian apparel market. In just a few years, Push established itself on an international level with its Hanita brand, and now it is especially popular in the Middle East, China, and the United States, thanks to constant innovation in terms of style and materials. Currently, Casillo is President of the Fashion Section and member of the Board of Naples’ Industrial Union.
MICHELE BALDASSARRE LETTIERI
Since 1996 Michele Baldassarre Lettieri has been president of Accademia della Moda, since 2011 Director of the AIM Education Company, since 2017 of the fashion system (Italian employers’ federation of Naples). From 9th March 2018, he has been President of the “CAMPANIA MODA” Higher Technical Institute.
From the beginning of its activity, he has created a capillary network of connections and collaborations with companies in the sector. Its mission is always to realize a project based on the interaction between training and careers developing a network of collaborations first with local and national companies, then with foreign enterprise, establishing relationships abroad with England, China, Romania, Serbia and Albania. President Lettieri in the last few years, has been engaged in the relaunch and promotion of the Italian footwear sector, indeed recently Accademia della Moda has presented a Postgraduate MA II course in the Accessory Design (shoes and bags).
PASQUALE DELLA PIA
Pasquale Della Pia, together with his brother Giovanni, is owner of the Della Pia footwear company, which owns the “Dei Mille” brand. Della Pia is also a member of the Assocalzaturifici board of directors and member of the managerial board for the fashion section of Confindustria Naples. However, Della Pia is above all a genuine Neapolitan, or rather a Neapolitan footwear maker. “Naples was and continues to be today one of the most important footwear manufacturing centres of fashion, quality, and the ability to produce ‘well-made’ products that represent the very best of Made in Italy. After almost one hundred years of activity (which first began in a small workshop thanks to my grandfather), today Della Pia continues to be synonymous with women’s collections that focus on quality and a 100% Made in Italy production, which is based on Neapolitan craft workmanship mixed with technological innovation at the same time”.
In 1993, after ten years as communications director of the National Steering Board of the CSI (Italian Sport Center), Marcello Tortora accompanied Pope John Paul II in his long trip to Denver, working on the creation of a series of TV documentaries as part of the Italian Bishops’ Conference activities; he then started a long-term working collaboration with the news broadcasting services of the Italian national television corporation (RAI); in 1997, in partnership with Luigi Criscuolo and Roberta Pagano, he founded the communications organization Medias, which soon established itself as one of Italy’s leading consultancy organizations in the sector. Tortora has been personally in charge of communications for institutional bodies such as Imprenditorialità Giovanile, Italia Lavoro, Sviluppo Italia later Invitalia, and Confcooperative, and for commercial companies in the luxury goods, fashion and accessories industries. In 2010, Medias España was established, with operating headquarters in Barcelona, specializing in the world of digital advertising and digital PR, thereby expanding its market and horizons. He has been a member of the Fashion Advisory Committee of the Naples Union of Industrialists 2016.
